The Overwhelming Goodness of God.

God is the God of the overflow. And when we pour out our hearts to Him, we can be confident in the faithfulness of His goodness, to take our burdens and generously replace them with His abounding love, peace, and joy.

God is a good and caring Father who has no desire for His children to be oppressed. He is a liberating God, who faithfully fills every gap, heals every wound, solves every problem, provides every need, transforms every heart, guides every life, and brings light to darkness (Matthew 11:28-30).

He is omnipotent and never taken off guard by anything we encounter, for He has already set in motion a pre-planned victorious response. God's grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). This is not because He sits idle until we are weak or confined to only work when we allow, but rather it's in our weakness that we gain the eyes to see our need for Him, and place our focus on His majesty.

It is in our weakness that we no longer overlook, obstruct and resist Him with our own efforts and ways, but willingly return the reigns of our life to Him. It is on the platform of dependency that we most greatly witness the power of His truth and radiance of His glory.

It is in our weakness that we abandon our ways and plans for His, and become bearers of His light. It's in our great reliance, surrender, and submission that we fully accept, receive and glorify the One who is greater than ourselves.

Only here on the holy ground of His presence do we find joy and become complete, as we whole-heartedly offer ourselves for His will to be done in and through. It is only here in this place that we fully can experience, express and extend His love and truth, and magnify His radiance.

And yet even here we stand not by our own doing or strength, but it is by the generousity of His overwhelming goodness and love for us that He draws us here. For He alone is the Author, Perfecter and Finisher of our faith, and the giver of all we have and are (Hebrews 12:1-3). He is the intimate lover of our souls that calls us to unite with Him, and gives us the authority and grace to be in His presence.

It is only by His faithfulness and goodness that we are alive, for it is in Him that we breathe, move, live, and love (Acts 17:28; 1 John 4:19). Every effortless breath we extract testifies to this, for it is His breath that He generously breathes into us without hesitation.

God is our liberator, sustainer, healer, hope, peace and joy. He is all that is good and He is love itself. He is our gracious and trustworthy Father, Friend, Saviour, Counsellor, Provider and Restorer. He is faithful and never gives up on or tires of His children who He deeply loves.

And it is here in the purity and overwhelming generousity of God's love that I live in the endless second chances of His redeeming grace, that frees me instead of holding me hostage to the wounds and mistakes of my past. And it is here in the truth and agape love of Christ that I am liberated to powerfully walk in the joy and blessings of my present, future and eternal life yet to come.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

    Psalm 23:6
