Will you have the courage to make "the great exchange"? To give God your old life for the new life that only He can give. For Jesus tells us that He makes all things new (Isaiah 43:18)
God's greatest desire is for you to know Him, know Him by being in a lifelong relationship with Him where He reveals Himself to you, and reveals who you are in Him.
God desires to take away your hurt and pain and give you life anew. A life of freedom and liberation to walk beyond the constraints of the world's thinking, standards and descriptions.
God wants to heal wounds of bitterness, jealousy, and unforgiveness that weighs you down and robs your peace and joy. For God created you powerfully in love and to powerfully love and these things oppose Him who is love and hold you outside of the green pastures of His glory that He calls you to.
It is impossible for you to walk in the love that God commissions you to when these things hold your heart hostage in darkness and dictate how you navigate your life.
God is Light, and He desires to bring in that light to every dark place so you only walk in His light. To give you the life beyond human emotions and understanding as we have currently been trained and taught, this life tainted and centred in self-gratification for true life that only the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ can lead us to for He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), so only by encountering and knowing Him can we ever find and reside in it.
We will never be satisfied until we make this exchange because no self-help book, person, cosmetic surgery, fame, riches, selfie or social media post that depends on and is dictated by an external image and superficial life can offer the inner peace and joy that our soul hungers for and complete us. For only the One whose image we were created in can perfect us.
For Jesus said that "peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives" John 14:27. He also declares that His peace far surpasses our understanding so this is not peace that we can gain in our own strength, but that only He can give to us, and that He freely and lovingly gives to us when we come to Him.
Many never make the exchange of the old for the new because they feel that their life is too complex, messy or broken for anyone to fix or to make good of it. But this is not just anyone but the One who created you and died for you and is supreme over all things. For Jesus tells us "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John10:10).
God tells us to cast all our burdens on Him - not just some but all. Come to Him and bring all of your life with you for He loves you and calls you to Him just as you are. For one of the greatest gifts that God gives is life anew with Him.
