Starting Point.

God commands us to "Be Courageous" not because He is a rigid and uncaring God that dropped us off into the world and then abandoned us. But because He created us to be His fearless children, and the life that He created us to live takes courageous faith to fulfill (2Timothy1:7). He also knew that at times this world can be harsh, unruly, unforgiving, and would knock us down so He prepares us in the way required to not just survive but to thrive.

We live in a time that demands resiliency, perseverance, and esteem to not: give up; be lured into making decisions based on what's popular and trending; conform to the deceptive pressures of this world glorified and reinforced by social media and frequently dictated by a value system shaped and condoned by mob mentality and acceptability.

This is a time requiring us to steadfastly know who we are; to think for ourselves and discern what is right and true so we do not easily shrink to other's opinions and cling to every new idea. It is a time where we must live convicted by truth and be courageous enough to stand in and for truth even if it means physically standing alone.

The greatest and most powerful things that God will call you to do will take faith, love and courage to accomplish.  And at all times be confident that He is with you, for there is never a place that He calls us to that He doesn't personally walk us through. As soon as we submit to Him and step out in faith to do His will, God our Eternal Father and Divine Creator is with us. Even in the deepest valleys and darkest shadows, the Living and Almighty God is with you (Psalm 23).

God purposefully and powerfully created you and gave you to the world for such a time as this (Esther 4:14). Be courageous enough to fulfill your divine destiny by surrendering your plans for His, and faithfully trusting and following Him even when you walk through uncertain times and uncomfortable places that you don't understand for God works mysteriously and miraculously in the sovereignty of His majesty.

Live courageously and love generously. Live faithfully in God's love, wisdom, and strength - not your own. He is your strength for every assignment, battle, and victory. His plans are perfect, and He who dwells within you provides the grace and courage for you to live the amazing life that He commissions you to for His glory (2Corinthians 5:7&12:9).  LIVE COURAGEOUSLY.

God created us to courageously live in His love.

Living in the depth of our greatness and authenticity begins when we live from the inside out. By doing this we live in our intended and most powerful state where the Divine God who created and dwells within us empowers us to courageously live (1 Corinthians 3:16).

God who is love created us in His image of love for the exclusive purpose to love - love God and others (1 John 4:8; Genesis 1:27; Matthew 22). His powerful love reaches beyond our intellect, the teachings of this world, and human theology. For we can only truly love, when "Love" Himself fills us, restores us and enables us with His love to purposefully and profoundly be an extension of Him.

God loves, liberates and nurtures us so that we are equipped to courageously walk on the higher ground of His love to fulfill His will which is our destiny and how we live victoriously (1 John 4:7). For when we reside in the presence and power of God, we can fearlessly contribute to the world from our highest altitude in the fullnes of our beauty, authenticity, purpose and potential.

As we live steadfast in the knowledge and truth of He who dwells within us and what He has chosen and qualified us to do we become powerfully confident in who we are. And we will refuse to let our God ordained work remain undone and to be ruled by or shrink to the life outside of us. Instead, we courageously rise up each day in the eminence of the life vested within us - for "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit declares the Lord Almighty

(Zechariah 4:6)

The Leopard lives courageously and victoriously irrespective of the fact that he is the smallest of the large cats, will never be as fast as the cheetah, and doesn't have the ferocious roar of the lion or its powerful reputation as "king of the jungle".

He is fierce and exudes confidence because he intrinsically knows exactly who he was created to be and authentically lives in that truth. He meaningfully contributes to the world in the way that only he can and he seeks no one for validation or permission to do so.

He walks in the power of who he is and what he can do rather than being deterred or defeated by what he can't. He intricately knows his gifted strengths and doesn't doubt or trivialize them, instead he glorifies them as he leverages each one for his success.

The leopard has the aptitude to run more than 50km/h, and climb trees while carrying prey 3 times its body weight. He hides in trees and hunts mostly at night to take advantage of his superior night vision that is 7 times greater than a human's and can spot prey 10 miles away.  He has the ability to leap more than 6 meters horizontally and 3 meters vertically, and his hearing is 5 times more efficient than a human's.

He is powerful, purposeful and triumphant because he intimately knows and believes who he is and courageously lives in that truth - God created and calls us to do the same.

I will praise You because I am fearfully and wondefully made;

marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows fully well.

(Psalm 139:14)

The Leopard.

Courage is the required ammunition and mental toughness to confront fear and opposition head on so their power is destroyed. It enables us to walk through and overcome adversity instead of succumbing to it. It is the tenacity to: not give up, refuse defeat, take risks, rise above circumstances, dream big dreams, move past mistakes, be transformed, stand up for what we believe, live our values, and to get up when we get knocked down. It is the audacity to authentically live in truth irrespective of what is going on around us or what others think or say.

Courage elevates us to the higher ground of greatness that God places before us to contribute to the world more powerfully and purposefully. It only exists and becomes significant when there is opposition. It is what we powerfully do in spite of tribulation, not in the absence or avoidance of it.  It manifests in our refusal to sit life out because it appears too complex or painful.  And it is what accompanies us as we push past and conquer anything that tries to oppress, suppress, or depress us.

Courage is our innate nature for God did not give us a spirit of fear but love, power and a sound mind and He Himself walks with us and battles for us (2 Timothy 1:7; Joshua 1:9). But the choice to live courageously is ours for courage is not sought or needed by those seeking an easy and safe road. Courage is only attained by those who demand to live from the highest mountain top of their God gifted life and potential, and are willing to fight for that life even when things seem hopeless and others would grow weary and give up. It is a trait used by those who desire to soar, and it is only for those prepared to endure the uncomfortable struggle to break free and receive the victory that awaits them on the other side of the battle.

Courage is what shifts your perspective, centers you in truth and takes back your power, as you no longer dwell in the deceit of "I can't" and "I am not" -  but you move forward in the reality and reward of "I can", "I will", "I must", and "I am" because you realize that who you are is not defined or diminished by anyone or anything outside of you. You believe you are who God says you are and you walk by faith in the liberation and confidence of that truth.

Life's trials reveal the depth and strength of our character that otherwise would not be fully explored, developed, and utilized and it is here that we are offered the profound opportunity to walk in the authenticity of who we were created to be and live life a new way. Courage is what breaks through yesterday's ceiling of impossibilities to make them the floors of possibility that we walk on today. Courage is for those who refuse to drown or crawl for they know they are capable of walking on higher ground and they won't quit until they do.

Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord Your God will be with you wherever you go.

(Joshua 1:9)
